Wine AOC Touraine and Touraine Chenonceaux
During your tasting, you will discover all the mysteries of the Loire Valley and Touraine. Indeed our region is rich in a great diversity of wines.
We will be happy to explain this to you during your visit to our estate.
In the West, the oceanic influence is strong and allows Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc to ripen (the 2 main grape varieties of the Loire Valley).
In the East, the climate is more continental (meaning the days are warmer and the nights cooler) and this appeals to Sauvignon and Gamay.
In addition to these traditional Loire Valley grape varieties, we have the “Côt” grape variety which is a cousin of Malbec.
We have this grape variety from the south because François 1er brought it to Touraine to have it at will when he was at the Château d’Amboise.
